Derivation of Reaction-Diffusion Equations

چکیده

Diffusion mechanism models the movement of many individuals in an environment or media. The individuals can be very small such as basic particles in physics, bacteria, molecules, or cells, or very large objects such as animals, plants, or certain kind of events like epidemics, or rumors. The particles reside in a region, which we call Ω, and we assume that Ω is open subset of Rn (the n-th dimensional space with Cartesian coordinate system) with n ≥ 1. In particular, we are interested in the cases of n = 1, 2 and 3, but most material here are true regardless of the dimensions of the space (sometimes n = 1 and n ≥ 2 may be different as we will see.)

Positivity-preserving nonstandard finite difference Schemes for simulation of advection-diffusion reaction equations

Systems in which reaction terms are coupled to diffusion and advection transports arise in a wide range of chemical engineering applications, physics, biology and environmental. In these cases, the components of the unknown can denote concentrations or population sizes which represent quantities and they need to remain positive. Classical finite difference schemes may produce numerical drawback...

Pullback D-attractors for non-autonomous partly dissipative reaction-diffusion equations in unbounded domains

At present paper, we establish the existence of pullback $mathcal{D}$-attractor for the process associated with non-autonomous partly dissipative reaction-diffusion equation in $L^2(mathbb{R}^n)times L^2(mathbb{R}^n)$. In order to do this, by energy equation method we show that the process, which possesses a pullback $mathcal{D}$-absorbing set, is pullback $widehat{D}_0$-asymptotically compact.

Derivation of Non-isotropic Phase Equations from a General Reaction-Diffusion Equation

A non-isotropic version of phase equations such as the Burgers equation, the K-dV-Burgers equation, the Kuramoto-Sivashinsky equation and the Benney equation in the three-dimensional space is systematically derived from a general reaction-diffusion system by means of the renormalization group method. Continuous-time formulation of reaction-diffusion processes on heterogeneous metapopulations.

We present the derivation of the continuous-time equations governing the limit dynamics of discrete-time reaction-diffusion processes defined on heterogeneous metapopulations. We show that, when a rigorous time limit is performed, the lack of an epidemic threshold in the spread of infections is not limited to metapopulations with a scale-free architecture, as it has been predicted from dynamica...

A numerical investigation of a reaction-diffusion equation arises from an ecological phenomenon

This paper deals with the numerical solution of a class of reaction diffusion equations arises from ecological phenomena. When two species are introduced into unoccupied habitat, they can spread across the environment as two travelling waves with the wave of the faster reproducer moving ahead of the slower. The mathematical modelling of invasions of species in more complex settings that include ...

Analysis of Coupled Reaction-Diffusion Equations for RNA Interactions.

We consider a system of coupled reaction-diffusion equations that models the interaction between multiple types of chemical species, particularly the interaction between one messenger RNA and different types of non-coding microRNAs in biological cells. We construct various modeling systems with different levels of complexity for the reaction, nonlinear diffusion, and coupled reaction and diffus...
